The Madwoman of Chaillot

Set in post-war Paris, Jean Giraudoux creates a magical world in a Parisian cafe where Countess Aurelia, the Madwoman of Chaillot, overhears a group of unscrupulous businessmen devise an “explosive” plan to drill for oil in Paris—the Madwoman decides to take matters into her own hands and with the help of her “mad” friends and a motley crew of local vagabonds, they put the evildoers on trial down in the cellar. Where there is chaos, happy endings and love abide.
